The plan page does the signing up for you
Every plan has a page of its own that you send the customer: what is covered, what it costs, your terms, and their right to cancel within fourteen days. They agree by typing their name, which is recorded with the date, and set the Direct Debit up on GoCardless’s own secure page in the same sitting. You are not chasing a signature and you never handle anybody’s bank details.

A bounced payment is not a cancelled customer
Most software cancels the cover the day a payment fails, or never chases it at all, and neither is right. A homeowner whose boiler packs in the week their payment bounced, who then finds out they were not covered, is a complaint that costs you a great deal more than the payment did. I keep the cover running while I chase, and the Service Plans page shows the split between people who chose to leave and people you lost to a failed payment.
