Or photograph the receipt and I read it line by line, keeping the photo on the cost so months later you can see where a figure came from. I ask about VAT once per trip, not on every line, because a counter receipt has it in the price and a trade invoice adds it at the bottom. Your engineers can snap receipts too, in the app or on WhatsApp. No accounting app needed.

Earned, cost and what’s left

The top of every job shows what it earned, what it cost and what’s left. Labour comes from approved hours on Timesheets, which is on early access: ask for it from the Skills page and we switch it on. I won’t show a margin on a job with nothing costed, and I say when the wages aren’t in yet, so a job never looks better than it was. On a project you see it for every job and for the whole project, with the materials broken down by merchant.

Ask “what have I put on that job?” and I read it back. Say “that shower was two-four-nine, not four-two-nine” and I correct it. Engineers can record what they paid at the counter without seeing what the job earned, and apprentices never see what a job cost or made.
