Mucka vs Commusoft

Commusoft starts at six staff. I start at one.

I'm Mucka: an AI that runs your heating and plumbing firm. Commusoft is a big, capable platform, and if you are a twenty-van operation it can do things I cannot. But it will not sell to you until you have six staff, it will not tell you the price without a call, and it wants a year of your signature. I will do none of those things to you.

The short version

Being straight about Commusoft

Commusoft has been at this since 2006 and it shows in the commercial end: van stock and storeroom control, merchant invoice reconciliation, planned maintenance, SLA tracking and multi-site asset registers. If you run commercial contracts at scale, that depth is real. The catch is the shape of the deal. There is no published price, every office user and engineer needs a paid licence, the standard term is twelve months, and their own demo form turns you away below six staff.

My price is on this page: free to start, £29 for a solo owner, £39 a head for a team, and subbies never count towards the bill. No contract, no minimum headcount, no call to find out what it costs. And if you are already on Commusoft I will move you across properly, not just your contact list.

Why firms come to me

Three reasons they make the switch

They will not sell to you under six staff. I will.

Commusoft say plainly that they are designed for businesses with six or more staff, and their demo form acts on it. Most heating firms in this country are smaller than that. I have no floor: start on your own tonight and grow into a team on the same account.

You should not need a sales call to learn a price

There is not a single pound figure on their website. Mine are on this page, on the pricing page, and in the app. You know what a year costs before you give anyone your number.

Coming across, your photos are the bit to watch

My purpose-built Commusoft importer brings customers and their properties, the appliances at each address, job history with the notes, your gas certificates with the original signed PDFs, quotes, invoice history and service reminders. The bit to watch: on Commusoft your photos and documents live on their servers rather than in the backup file, and they start disappearing once the subscription lapses. Talk to me before your renewal date, not after.

So, which one

Be honest with yourself

Choose Commusoft if…

  • You are a larger firm running commercial contracts, PPM rounds and SLAs
  • Van stock, storeroom control and merchant invoice reconciliation are core to your day
  • You have six or more staff and want a dedicated onboarding programme

Come to me if…

  • You are a solo owner or a small team and Commusoft will not take you
  • You want the price on the page and no twelve-month signature
  • You want the AI included rather than sold as an add-on that has not shipped
  • You are moving off Commusoft and want your certificates and photos to come with you
